HULL PRENOSI OBAVIJESTI I LINKOVE ECPC-A - EUROPEAN CANCER PATIONT COALITION - The Right to Be Forgotten Project for Cancer Survivors
Dear ECPC Member,
My name is Grazia Scocca and I am working as a legal researcher for the European Cancer Patient Coalition (ECPC).
I am addressing you this email, because I am working on a research study on the access to financial services for cancer survivors. The research is conducted under the supervision of Dr. Françoise Meunier, oncologist, member of the Scientific Committee of the ECPC and Vice President of the Federation of the European Academies of Medicine (FEAM).
The aim of the research project is to assess the level of accessibility for cancer survivors to financial services, once their treatments end and they should be able to be back to their lives. The research takes into consideration the promulgation of legal provisions in France, Belgium and Luxembourg on the right to be forgotten for cancer survivors.
The above-mentioned initiatives introduced for cancer survivors the Right to not declare their cancer (10 years after the end of the active treatment and 5 years for cancers under 18) when they apply for loans, mortgages, insurances or other financial services.
On 4 February 2020 – World Cancer Day – the European Commission launched an EU-wide public consultation on Europe's Beating Cancer Plan. The Plan identifies the quality of life for cancer patients and survivors as a key issue for the EU Action, mentioning the right to be forgotten as an example of best practice to tackle the stigma and the financial discrimination experienced by cancer survivors.
Considering the role of your organization, I would appreciate if you can fill in the survey available at the link here below to provide me some information.

In particular, I would be interested to know if a similar provision exists in Croatia or whether an ongoing debate among the political parties is going on this issue. The survey can be spread also among your members if want.
I would be also grateful if you could provide me any feedback on existing issues on this topic and the existence of specific programs for cancer survivors in Croatia. Please feel free to put me in contact with other relevant offices of your organization or external ones interested in this issue.
My sincere appreciation for any sort of feedback you can provide me on the topic.
I remain at your disposal for any additional information relating to the project.
Yours faithfully,
Grazia Scocca
