Mobilising support to reduce inequities and improve outcomes in women’s cancers

UICC continues to drive efforts to address breast and cervical cancer to help reverse mortality trends and end inequities. Through knowledge sharing, fellowships and other opportunities in its Breast Cancer programme, UICC fully supports WHO’s latest initiative on breast cancer.

Four cancer professionals receive YY Study Grants to further research

Recipients of last year’s call for Yamagiwa-Yoshida Memorial International (YY) Study Grants come from Brazil, India and the US. They will be visiting research centres in the US, Japan and France for three months later this year. Read more

In vitro diagnostics (IVDs) provide essential data for screening, diagnosis and treatment, and is vital for the early detection of cancer. In many LMICs, however, access to quality assured medical diagnostics is not a given.

Some 10 million people die from cancer globally every year. Cancer control aims to lessen the burden this places on countries and communities. It includes cancer prevention, early detection and diagnosis, treatment and palliative care.
