Workshop on Patient Empowerment & Community Engagement in Patient Safety

Patient empowerment is a process through which patients individually and collectively have increased capacity to express their needs, present their concerns and take action to meet those needs in partnership with the healthcare providers. The Jeddah Declaration on Patient Safety highlights the significance of patient empowerment and engagement in the improvement of healthcare globally.

Biosimilars Training Program

Biosimilar Training Program was held from May 10-11, 2022, which educated patient advocates from all over the world on the health and economic benefits of biosimilars as well as the challenges they create for patients. The WPA partnered with the Global Colon Cancer Association and the Alliance for Safe Biologic Medicines to provide this extensive training program. Read more

WPA Membership Survey 2022 Results

WPA created a  survey with all our member organizations. The survey was launched at the beginning of 2022 in English and Spanish languages. We thank 62% of our members for completing the online survey. The results of this survey have informed us how to best serve and understand the needs of our member organizations. WPA patient organization members represent hundreds of millions of patients globally.  Through this survey we were able to gain insight into their needs.

Upcoming Event

Join WPA’s 1st African Regional Meeting on 25th of August 2022. The African Regional Meeting will bring together over 90 WPA member patient organizations in 26 countries of the African region along with other healthcare stakeholders to discuss African healthcare issues and problems and initiate a regional campaign to work together for  their solutions. Read More
