There are wide-ranging factors that contribute to women experiencing higher risks and worse outcomes when it comes to cancer. Breaking down the stigma: women and cancer care

In this article, UICC looks at the many different forms of stigma that women can experience in cancer care. Take action

UICC is requesting input from members on cancer care and UHC

The second High-Level Meeting on Universal Health Coverage (UHC) will take place on 21 September 2023. As UHC cannot be achieved if cancer is left out – and since UHC is essential to effective cancer control – UICC is drafting a document calling for the inclusion of core cancer services in UHC benefit packages. To reflect the views of its members, UICC is requesting feedback to help shape its position and priorities. For more information, read the ask document and participate in the consultation on UHC priorities for UICC members, visit UICC’s dedicated webpage.

Multi-cancer early detection could save millions of lives

In this edition of Let’s Talk Cancer, Cary Adams talks about the emerging technology of multi-cancer early detection with Dr Dan Milner, Executive Director of the Access to Oncology Medicines (ATOM) Coalition. Dr Milner explains how a simple blood test could detect up to 200 cancers in the early stages and why he is optimistic that it will help turn the tide on cancer by eliminating the need for costly and more invasive tests for different cancer types.
