Planning for World Lymphoma Awareness Day (WLAD) 2025 is underway and LC is inviting Members who would like to be involved in the pre-planning process to join the WLAD committee!

If interested, please let LC know by Friday, March 7th.

The committee will meet once mid-March to start shaping the campaign’s focus, resources, and key messaging and then one more time in May to discuss the tactics to support the campaign.

This is an opportunity to collaborate, share insights, and help develop a global initiative that raises awareness and supports those affected by lymphoma.

As preparations for another impactful campaign begin, LC wants to ensure as many Members as possible can take part in the first planning call where goals and plans for 2025 WLAD will be shared.

The 7th European CAR T Cell Meeting, took place 6–8 February 2025 in Strasbourg, France and brought together leading experts to explore the latest advancements in CAR T cell therapy.

The event covered key topics such as clinical developments, manufacturing innovations, and expanding applications of this groundbreaking treatment.

A key highlight of the meeting was Dr. Jennifer Vidrine’s presentation on Shared Decision-Making, where she referenced the Global Patient Survey (GPS) on lymphomas and CLL. Her discussion reinforced the relevance of GPS data in improving patient care, particularly in the context of CAR T cell therapy.

This was part of the nurses’ track, underscoring the survey’s value across different stakeholder groups. Dr Vidrine, a consultant in palliative medicine at Freeman Hospital (NHS, UK), has led studies on patient and care partner experiences with novel therapies for blood cancer.

Natacha Bolaños, Head of Membership & Alliances at Lymphoma Coalition, attended the meeting and engaged in discussions on the future of CAR T therapy and its impact on patient care.

LC is proud to continue empowering the global lymphoma community with better tools and resources.

LC will be updating and developing new educational toolkits to better support Members in their work with patients and care partners.

These toolkits will include templated materials such as expert-led videos, plain-language resources, and accessible, practical content designed for direct use in education and outreach.

To ensure these resources are as valuable and relevant as possible, LC invites you to share your input on the topics and formats that would best meet your needs.

UICC is offering a member-exclusive course on effective cancer advocacy, designed to strengthen networks, engage with key decision-makers, and develop impactful advocacy strategies.

Course details:
Duration: 10 weeks (17 March – 21 May 2025)
Application deadline: 10 March 2025
Languages: English, with additional webinars, resources, and discussions available in French and Spanish.

Participants will gain skills to:
– Build and collaborate within coalitions
– Develop a clear advocacy strategy
– Craft persuasive advocacy messages and plan impactful activities
– Understand and apply health financing and budget advocacy at the national level

Upon completion, participants will be eligible to apply for future cycles of the Cancer Advocates programme.
